"Like Lambs" is a song from Billy Corgan's third solo album, Cotillions. Corgan has said the song was written for his children, at the time only Augustus Juppiter, and later re-dedicated it to both of his children after his daughter Philomena Clementine was born.[1]
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Solemn heir once and future king
You are the scion of everything I am
Ooh-ooh-ooh lodestar, shine on
Life is easy if you know who you are
Fly by creed and horn
Leave corner stone
Find no patient mind
As holy unto one
As one might be
Oh big G say to me
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Rise ye up, as evening's cry
Rise ye up, as evening's cry
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Rise ye up, dread Leviathan
And drink from vanish shoal the colors of the king
Oh oh oh with the rites we'll burn
On barges let loose down a river's turn
So go by creed and horn
Leave corner stone
Find no patient mind
As holy unto one
As one might be
Oh big G say to me
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Rise ye up as evening's cry
Rise ye up as evening's cry
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
Yesterday, yesterday's gone
