"Jesus is the Sun" is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins that first appeared on the Mashed Potatoes bootleg, and officially released on the 2011 deluxe re-issue of Gish. In a 2021 Instagram post, Billy Corgan explained the song foreshadowed some of the work the band would later do on Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and Adore. "The wider DNA of the band is in those early demos," he explained.[1]
