Avalon Niteclub was a night club and music venue in Chicago that The Smashing Pumpkins frequented in their early years. The venue closed in 1995[1] and is now a hair salon, though the stage area was left intact for nostalgic reasons.[2]
The venue was known for its hip-hop presence. Notable acts to perform there include De La Soul, Arrested Development, and A Tribe Called Quest.[1]
