Thirty-Three with William Patrick Corgan is a podcast from Billy Corgan. It includes 33 episodes – each debuting new songs off of the 33-track ATUM album by The Smashing Pumpkins. The first episode aired September 20, 2022, with a new episode released every following Tuesday.

In addition to world premiers of new Smashing Pumpkins songs, the podcast covers older songs from the Smashing Pumpkins catalog as well as some solo material from Corgan. Special guests are included on most episodes, as Corgan gives deep dives into original songs and "how things are made in the Smashing Pumpkins factory."[1]

It is Corgan's first podcast[1] and is produced with iHeartPodcasts.

Backstory[edit | edit source]

In the first episode, Corgan explained how he had long shunned the idea of doing a podcast, but welcomed this one as a means to share not only the new songs and the inspiration behind them, but explain how the songs fit into the larger ATUM story and how each song has a narrative in it.[2]

By contrast, on previous concept albums like Mellon Collie and Machina, Corgan says "I didn't really explain the story and it caused a ton of confusion. On this one, the third concept album by The Smashing Pumpkins – the third in the trilogy – we're actually going to explain the story as we go. So we have the benefit of knowing the story before you actually hear the song. I think will be a unique experience for both for me and everyone here."[2]
