Banter[edit | edit source]
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
> Behold! The Night Mare
> Bring the Light
> Tonight, Tonight
> Mayonaise
BC: Thank you!
Superchrist
BC: Good evening, Melbourne. Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin.
Perfect (Billy acoustic w/Jimmy tambourine)
Lily
> Today
> Tarantula
> Stand Inside Your Love
> Ava Adore
BC: Thank you very much, thank you! How’s everybody doing way over there, are you okay way over there? (pointing at one side of the venue) Lookit, they're like like in a cage, what’s going on, what did you do wrong? Did you get punished or...?, heh. I know what they did, they used too much water, right, isn’t that the problem? You were caught washing your cars, weren’t you? (pointing at other side of venue) Are you in a cage too? What’s goin’ on over there? Thank you, heh heh. Heh heh! The rat in the cage line comes to mind, heh heh. Yes, if I ruled the world, well, how it would be so different?, yes. How’s everybody doing, you okay? You’re alright, you’re alright, alright. Now where we were at our last city, what city was that? Adelaide? (crowd boos) Is that a city, is that a real city, what’s going on over there? I was about to play this next song in Adelaide, if that’s what it’s called and uh, and I said “I’d like to play an old song”, the crowd kinda cheered like that sort of cheer like, “Yay, we hate your new songs”? Yes. I had to scold them because I’m old and that’s what old people do.
The Ocean (tease - Jeff quietly plays the first 5 notes)
BC: You get all bitter and you gotta tell the young people how it should be. Heh heh heh. Anyway, this is a song called Drown. Heh heh.
Drown
> Bullet with Butterfly Wings
(BC during pause before audience acapella interlude singing: Alright, everybody in the cages, ready?! ... Your cage singing is not very good.)
blues improv (Billy solo acoustic - he stops and starts several times while talking)
BC: This is the song you -- that I play when you go take a piss and get your beer or whatever, so...now is a good time to do that. That's right, nobody drinks here, right? Just orange juice. That’s right, just talk, it’s all good. I’ll just talk to some fans up front, okay. (Billy moves away from the mic and chit chats with the front row for 20 seconds or so) Okay.
1979 (Billy solo acoustic)
That’s the Way (Billy 12-string w/Lisa)
My Blue Heaven (Billy w/Lisa)
(As usual, Billy wears his electric guitar without playing it for the segue into "The Everlasting Gaze" but hands it to somebody offstage during Lisa's solo)
