Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Intro
Where Boys Fear to Tread
> Zero
D’arcy: Thank you, hi.
Cherub Rock
To Forgive
> “Thank you for participating” tape
> Tonight, Tonight
BC: Thanks a lot. Thank you for coming to the concert. Thank you for waiting. We’re very happy to, um, have made it here. Um, thank you very much for being patient. We weren’t really sure if, uh, we were ever gonna do this concert, but here we are, so....
Iha: So -- so let’s just rock for New York City, heh heh.
Today
> Planet of the Apes clip
> Thru the Eyes of Ruby
BC: Thank you.
X.Y.U.
Disarm (acoustic)
Circus tape
> Bullet with Butterfly Wings
NYC improv
(band plays a short jam - only intelligible lyrics are Iha singing variations on “I've got the New York City blues” over and over)
> Fuck You
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
> Rocket (tease)
[encore break]
Iha: Thank you, thank you. ... Ladies and gentlemen, we have a special guest. All the way from Milwaukee, of the Frogs, Jimmy Frog. Let’s have a nice round of applause for Jimmy. He just flew in, his wings are tired. ... Jimmy brings, uh, style to the stage and uh...this is a, uh, suit he’s been working on for quite a while, I know it may shock some, but uh, he enjoys it and I want you to enjoy it with him.
BC: So how’s everybody doin’? How are all you people in the back there, how you doin’?
Iha: Are you rocking? Heh heh. All the way back there.
BC: It’s hard to see you but we know you’re back there, thanks for coming.
Iha: We salute you with the evil hand, we give you the evil hand.
BC: So we’re just gonna stand here for a while if you don’t mind.
Iha: We just can't [unintelligible word].
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (tease)
Iha: You know, this reminds me of a story. As a young child, I, uh -- well, I was a small child then, right? Enjoyed riding bicycles and...chasing butterflies. I realized how fruitless it was, the active striving and trying to be a happy child. I realized then that I was sad. And that’s why we are the saddest rock band here. Jimmy--
Jimmy Frog: (singing) In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey, don’t you know that I love you...
Iha: Jimmy Frog, everybody.
Jimmy Frog: (singing) ...In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby, don’t you know that I’m always true.
(band stops)
Iha: That’s why I want you to all join with me in a primal scream therapy. Now when I scream, I want you to scream with me. (screams)
BC: (screams)
BC + Iha: (screaming)
Iha: Come on, Billy, come on!!! That was pretty good.
(band starts In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida again)
Iha: Jimmy, would you care to sing another chorus? Maybe not. But maybe that’s the crazy reason we’re all here tonight in the Garden of Eden: Madison Square Garden! Put 'em up, come on! Alright. Any moment, we will continue our songs of love (band stops playing) and hate and we’ll rock.
1979 (with Jimmy Flemion)
Iha: Jimmy Frog!
BC: So...so what, yes. We hope you’ve had an enjoyable time.
Iha: A reasonably good time.
BC: Thanks again for waiting for the concert.
Iha: Can we put on some lights ‘cause we just look like the band of doom, okay, thank you.
BC: Uh, more please, heh heh.
Iha: Just slightly more.
BC: More, more, more.
Iha: I feel like we’re in a crypt up here on stage. [unintelligible word] more, heh.
BC: Let’s just leave the lights on for this song so we can see your pretty little faces. You can clearly view our bad attitudes and uh, we can all have a good time. Thanks again for coming. We appreciate it very much. Tell your mother I said hello.
Muzzle
BC: Thanks, god bless.
