Chants Magnétiques is a book written by Claire Fercak and Billy Corgan. It puts poetry to an imaginary dialogue between two mythical creatures. In the years prior, Fercak released a collection of texts and poems dedicated to The Smashing Pumpkins called Smashing Pumpkins / Tarantula Box Set, and it is through this work that the collaboration with Corgan began.[1]

In support of the book, Corgan performed a musical reading and book signing on September 30, 2010 at a bookstore in Paris.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

English machine translation:

Claire Fercak and Billy Corgan cross their feathers in these Magnetic Songs to offer us the dreamed encounter between Echo and Medea. Echo the fallen nymph whom her chatter transformed into a sound phenomenon, disembodied, tragically in love with the inaccessible Narcissus. Medea the murderous magician who, repudiated by Jason, will know how to invent barbaric weapons to satisfy her vengeance. Two stories that respond to each other, drawing from the sources of the collective imagination, to weave the body, the word of these tragic and fascinating stories whose one thing in common is deleterious passion: or how can love lead stars to the abyss, with the same movement.
