Banter[edit | edit source]

BC: Howdy! How y'all doin'? I'd like to play a song for you that I wrote about, uh, six months ago about the Cubs...before we lost. It's not for this event, but it's uh, apropo. So uh, hope you enjoy it.
Black Sox
BC: Thank you. An all-time classic! I'd like to bring up a special guest. From Chicago's very own Cheap Trick, Mr. Rick Nielsen. ... Oop. (off mic) Wanna say somethin'?
Nielsen: (off mic) Sure. (on mic) We'd like to thank our drummer and bass player for not showing up.
BC: Alright, let's get this party started!
Nielsen: Yeah! And my mother was the number one Cubs fan from Rockford, Illinois. And if she were alive today, she'd be very pleased that I'm finally getting to work with my father.
BC: Alright, can we get some applause, some clapping, some...some general cheer, let's warm this up. (Nielsen starts song and Billy claps along) Come on, you can clap. Come on!
I Want You to Want Me
BC: Thank you, members of the media. Thank you, members of the media.
Nielsen: Once again, we'd like to thank our drummer and bass player for not being here.
