{{Social media/Instagram|James Iha's debut solo album, Let It Come Down, released February 10, 1998! Co-produced with Jim Scott, it featured Smashing Pumpkins personnel Matt Walker (drums, percussion), D'arcy Wretzky (harmony vocal on "One and Two"), Eric Remschneider (cello, string arrangement), along with a number of other guests musicians including the late Adam Schlesinger. The album spawned the 4-track single "Be Strong Now" as well as a promotional single for "Jealousy".

On this album, Iha took on a more acoustic country-ish sound reminiscent of the songs he contributed to the Pumpkins, notably shying away from the darker sound of Billy Corgan's songwriting at the time. Iha had said that the quieter tone of the songs reflected the fact that many of them were written in his hotel rooms during The Smashing Pumpkins tours, and he didn't want to disturb other guests by playing too loudly.

Let It Come Down peaked at #171 on the Billboard 200, at #76 in the UK and at #53 in Sweden. AllMusic gave the album 4/5 stars, asserting "Iha's handful of songwriting contributions to the Pumpkins suggested that he had talent, and he proves it here", adding that it is "a refreshing little gem that begs for a sequel."

The album was remastered and re-issued in February 2012 with the three tracks previously released as B-sides added as bonus tracks, and in November 2020 saw a vinyl re-issue in Japan.
