"Cyr" is the first Smashing Pumpkins single from their eleventh studio album, CYR. Corgan told Rolling Stone, "Cyr is dystopic folly, one soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive of what is and isn’t possible with faith.". The Linda Strawberry-directed music video was well-received, and Jimmy Chamberlin's dance moves became a fan favorite, ultimately dubbed the #jimmyshimmy on social media. AllMusic said it invoked the "tense, trembling atmospheres the Pumpkins excel at". The song peaked at #21 on the Billboard Rock Digital songs chart and at #22 on Alternative Airplay.
